African masks

16th July 2018

We finished our topic of Africa by making our own African masks. We have been looking at the work of Yinka Shonibare in Art so we used some of his ideas and patterns and designs to help us to think of our patterns.

We also looked at the colours which different African designers use. We noticed that there were lots of orange, green, black and red used in different designs so we used these colours for our masks.

We also looked at the design of different African masks, and talked about what they were used for and why they were designed this way.

We think our masks would scare the enemies away!
