Engineering Workshop

27th June 2018

Wednesday 27th June 2018

As part of our “When I Grow Up” week, Year 6 took part in an engineering workshop led by Miss Moffatt’s sister, Grace, who is currently at University studying engineering. The children were given the task of creating a building structure which had to withstand an earthquake. We then had to think about how our building would be cost effective (considering ground charge and rent profit]. Following this, we tested our structures on a shaker board where we measured how sturdy and safe our buildings were.

We really enjoyed learning more about engineering, taking part in the activities and were inspired to consider engineering as a future career option.
