Our young writers shine at Liverpool College!

3rd October 2017

26th September 2017

A small group of Year 2 children were given the great opportunity of spending the day at Liverpool Prep College, where they were introduced to the author, Chris White, a renowned writer, performance poet and illustrator who has been featured on CBBC! The children took part in four excellent writing activities that encouraged all the children to put pencil to paper!

Firstly, the super Chris White drew a fictional octopus character and supported the children in drawing their own. He then encouraged the children to write a poem including lots of descriptive language.

Next, they went on to invent their own animal using a number of different animal body parts. This inspired the children in creating a very funny and creative piece of writing.

They continued by drawing and planning their own storyboards allowing them to illustrate and write their own story.

Finally, with a roll of a dice, they created their own human characters with some very unusual features, making for interesting descriptions!

A very successful and inspiring day for both children and staff.
