'When I Grow Up' week

27th June 2018

As part of ‘When I Grow Up’ week, Mrs Delaney came in from the NHS Blood and Transplant service to talk Year 3/4 about her career as a biomedical scientist. She told us all about our role making test kits for blood types and how this often leads to saving many lives. Her test kits help to identify what blood a patient needs in hospital when they are waiting for a transfusion. We even got to try on some of the lab protective clothing and she helped to address the common misconceptions about what scientists look like.
