Year 4 discover and explore!

For Science Week, Year 4 have been exploring different environments and the impact that we can have on these as humans. By using our own knowledge and looking and before and after pictures, we discovered the negative changes that are taking place in our oceans on a daily basis such as coral bleaching and our oceans turning into a “plastic soup.” We discussed what causes this damage and came up with ways that we could help reduce this, realising that if we all make a small change, we can make a big difference.

Alongside this, we are planning an investigation into another way that we, as humans, can harm our environment: littering. We are going to plant some different materials, commonly found as litter and check after a week how this has affected the environment and wildlife in the area. We are very interested to see the results!
