Pantomime, Christmas trees and odd socks!

5th December 2017

Christmas is fast approaching, and things are getting festive in Reception!  The elves’ workshop is still very popular, and the children’s wrapping skills (and naming of 3D shapes!) are improving every day.  Christmas trees are up, decorated by the children and looking very bright.  Rehearsals for ‘The Tiniest, Shiniest Star’ are progressing well – we can’t wait for you to see the show next week!  We watched our first pantomime last week, ‘Dick Whittington’, with the rest of the school.  As usual, the children behaved beautifully, and really enjoyed joining in.  Alongside all the festivities, phonics work is still taking place every day, and the children are astounding us with their ability to blend phonemes and use that knowledge to read and write.  We are exceptionally proud that so many children are now on reading books – thank you so much for practising their key words with them at home, it really does work!  Odd socks made an appearance too, as part of ‘Anti-bullying Week’ to promote the message that we’re all different, but equal.
