Christmas Maths

Year 6’s Christmas Maths Session

On Monday 19th December 2016, Year 6 was fortunate to participate in a festive maths lesson: we did a plethora of activities linked to algebra.  One of our favourite activities was when we had to work out what the value of each symbol was but with a Christmas twist: each symbol linked to Christmas. We really enjoyed this activity because we were able to work in pairs problem solving through trial and error. We were also given the opportunity to learn the basics of algebra. We had to listen to our partner and discuss why this was true.  We hope to do more of these kinds of activities again as we thoroughly enjoyed this day of Christmas problem solving.

Well done to Phoebe and Ben who solved the Christmas puzzle correctly first!
