Fire safety

6th November 2016

Year 2 were lucky to have a visit from the Fire Service this week. The firefighters came to talk to us about safety with fires, especially on Bonfire Night. We learned that a sparkler can be as hot as lava and a rocket can travel as fast as a Formula One car! Fireman Mark also told us to always wear gloves when using sparklers and to put a finished sparkler into cold water. We also talked about what to do if there was a fire and Fireman Chris showed us how to stop, drop and roll. We also learned that firefighters have special clothes which will protect them from fires and Mrs Noldy was lucky enough to wear the firefighters’ outfit!
