Light investigators

30th January 2017

In science, we have been exploring ‘light’. We have been able to investigate why shadows are formed, how a red filter can change the colour of a shadow, how we can change the size of a shadow and how rainbows are formed.

We were able to observe a rainbow when we passed light through a glass prism. From these investigations, we discovered why rainbows form.

“Rainbows are formed when the sun’s rays come into contact with raindrops. When light hits water, it refracts (bends) and the white light is dispersed into the colours of the rainbow.” Thomas and Phoebe.
