Our assembly

15th January 2017

This week it was our turn to deliver an assembly to the school. We decided to look at New Year and celebrations around the world. We learned that we were all either born in the Chinese year of the ox or the tiger! Some of us are looking forward to visiting China Town in Liverpool to see the celebrations in a few weeks time. We learned that Jewish people celebrate Rosh Hashana in the Autumn, with apples dipped in honey for a sweet new year. In Thailand they celebrate Songkran by throwing water over each other in the hope that this will help the crops to grow! Ethiopians celebrate in September by singing and dancing to bring the rain for the new year.

We wish everyone a Happy New Year!
