We were very lucky to have a visit on Tuesday 1st November – Alyx from Blackpool Zoo came to visit us and she brought some very exciting items for us! We learned all about Alyx’s work with the sealions at the zoo and she told us all about the different habitats of animals and what they need to survive. We learned that elephants have nine sets of teeth – the tooth fairy will be very busy at the zoo! We also learned that sealions can stay under the water for 17 minutes and that penguins can’t swim if they have fluffy feathers. We got to feel sealion fur, snake skin, a real fox fur and fluffy feathers from a penguin. Year Two really enjoyed meeting Alyx and lots of the children now want to visit her at the zoo!
