Our Year 2 Assembly

16th October 2016

On Friday 14th October we presented our It’s Good to be Me assembly to the whole school! We wanted to link together some of our learning, so we showed our work from a range of subjects – English, Art, Design, Philosophy and History. We have read the story of Elmer and how he wanted to be like everyone else –  until he learned that It’s good to be me! We designed our own colourful patterns for Elmer and thought of lots of questions to ask him. We have also been learning about the life of Nelson Mandela and Rosa Parks, and we told everyone that these people were treated unfairly because of who they were. We decided that we are all different and we are all special. We think that no-one should be treated differently because of who they are and we talked about having respect for each other. Here are some photos of our assembly. More news about another performance of our assembly coming very soon!!!!
