Roald Dahl day

14th September 2017

Wednesday 13th September was Roald Dahl day! We celebrated in Year Three by talking about all the different books that Roald Dahl wrote and which were our favourite ones. We explored Roald Dahl’s life and learned that he used to be a fighter pilot but he was so tall he found it hard to fit in his plane!

We also watched a Roald Dahl live video which was screened around the world. We learned that the character of Matilda was a really badly behaved girl in the first draft of the book. We also wrote descriptive passages about some of Roald Dahl’s characters, including lots of adjectives.

We now want to read lots of books by Roald Dahl at school and at home. Maybe we could visit the library and see how many we can find!
