Settling in & Persuasive Writing

7th September 2016

Today we explored the two opposing arguments for animal testing, and took part in a debate. We worked in groups to form our own opinions, using factual information to provide evidence. We spoke one at a time, listening to the thoughts and feelings of others, and responded with our own.

We spent the afternoon looking at the human heart, learning about the atriums and ventricles. We found out that the right side of the heart contains deoxygenated blood, that this is pumped to the lungs, where oxygen is added, before returning to the left side of the heart. From there it is pumped to the rest of the body.

We’ve also been learning about place value, and have been working with numbers in the millions!
