Useful information for Year 6 pupils and parents

13th September 2017

Useful information

Homework – We will give out homework when we feel it will help extend or support children’s learning. Teachers will make it very clear when this is expected to be returned to school.

Homework club – we are running a homework club most Wednesday lunch times for 30minutes in case you haven’t got that spare time at home to complete your homework tasks.

Our first homework task needs to be completed by Friday 15th September.

Linking to our topics in English (biographies) and geography (why Liverpool is a cool place to live in), you need to choose an interesting, famous person from Liverpool to complete research on. You should gather facts about their birth and childhood, their families, their education, their career, why they are famous and if they have any famous quotes. You will need to record your research in your homework book which will then help you write a biography on your chosen person in school.

See your homework explanation sheet for more information.

Reading – It is expected that children read daily at home and ensure their book is in school daily. Please sign the reading record each time you hear your child read.

PE – Coaches from Everton will lead our PE lessons every alternate Wednesday and a coach from Beth Tweedle Academy will lead gymnastics every Friday.  However you never know when we will have an extra lesson so please make sure you have your PE kit in school at all times.
