Traditional Tales

This week the children have been enjoying listening to a selection of traditional tales including ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and ‘The Three Little Pigs’. We created a gingerbread playdough workstation, a HUGE gingerbread man designed and created by the children and have also been inspired to cook our own gingerbread men in our Little Chef’s Kitchen. Our number area has also been taken over by gingerbread men encouraging lots of counting and sequencing. Ask your child if they can retell you the stories they have listened to this week. This will be a lovely opportunity to find out what they have been doing and it will also encourage them to sequence events in the correct order and deepen their understanding of the stories being read to them.

Our mystery item this week came all the way from Sri Lanka. The children were fascinated by the wonderful array of colourful sweets. Mrs Callaghan enjoyed tasting them! Take a look at the pictures below:

Our outdoor area was turned into an obstacle course this week and the children had  a brilliant time using all their skills to navigate their way around. The children also had to work together as a team to correctly collect and position the drain pipes to put the balls in the correct hoop.

REMINDER: We handed our week two nursery rhyme list out on Monday, so please ask a member of the nursery team if you didn’t receive one. The children are doing really well learning all the rhymes.
