What an Egg-cellent Experiment!

31st January 2017

Year 5 have had an egg-cellent time (get it?!) learning about the properties and changes of materials, and have used their learning to design, create and then test appropriate materials for the passage of fragile items such as eggs.

Our home-learning project has seen the pupils thinking about which materials would work best as a protective carrier for raw eggs, designing their contraption and then testing different materials to find out which would be best for their end-product. They then brought them into school today to test them on the playground.

The children had great fun watching Mr. Rimmer climb up and down the ladder, dropping the containers from the same heights, and recording the results. Which material do you think worked best?

We’ll publish our results when we’ve analysed them, and will post pictures/videos as soon as they’re ready.
