When I Grow Up Week in Year 3!

23rd June 2019

On Monday 17th June it was the start of our When I Grow Up week! We were very excited as we had a week of different visitors coming to talk to us all about STEM jobs. In our classes, we had discussions about different careers and which subjects we would need to study in order to do these jobs.

We had visitors from Aspire, who talked about chemicals and moving them responsibly and also from SSE who talked about the power plant Fiddlers Ferry and how they use coal to make electricity. They showed us how to make a wind turbine and we discussed how wind power can help us to generate electricity in the future. We also had an activity with Grace, an aerospace engineer, who helped us to make our own catapults. Everton in the Community also came to talk to us about their careers.

Finally, our amazing week finished with a parade! We all dressed up to represent the career we would like to have. We discussed this in class and talked about the things we would need to know in order to do that job.

We really enjoyed our week!
