WW2 Activity Day

28th June 2018
During our history topic on World War 2, Year 6 were fortunate to welcome Balestra WW2 workshops into school. Previously, we were given the opportunity to participate in a homework project based on WW2. It gave us the opportunity to gather our own research on what it was like during WW2. We completed research on a range of things: what evacuation was, why and how the war started, what rationing was, how the war ended and which leaders were involved in managing the different countries involved.
When Balestra came in, we were provided with lots of artefacts from WW2. It was a great experience to actually see what the clothing, gas masks and medical items actually looked like from the 1900’s. We got to explore Morse code and how a gramophone works.
