Year 5 Assemblies

21st November 2016

Year 5 have been busy this month with assemblies for the whole school.

Our first was on Friday 11th November (Remembrance Day). We commemorated all those who lost their lives at war, to give us the life we have today. We spoke about the significance of the poppy and recited some World War One poems. As well as this, we learnt two famous songs from the time: It’s a long way to Tipperary and Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag. We hope our audience enjoyed listening to them as much as we enjoyed singing!

Our second assembly took place on Friday 18th November, where we celebrated our Year Group’s Festival of Light (St Lucia’s Day). Robyn did an excellent job of dressing up as Lucy and leading the procession to begin our assembly. We really enjoyed sharing everything that we have learnt about St Lucia’s Day with the rest of the school.
