Art & Design at Longmoor
At Longmoor Community Primary School, we believe that Art & Design provides children with opportunities to express themselves creatively while developing the knowledge, skills and vocabulary to become confident and reflective artists and designers. Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to ensure that children build progressively on their understanding and application of a broad range of artistic techniques, materials and processes.
We use AccessArt as a key resource to support high-quality teaching and learning. Through exploring, creating, evaluating and refining their work, children develop increasing technical proficiency alongside an appreciation of artists, craftspeople and designers from a range of cultures and contexts. We aim for every child to develop creativity, confidence and pride in their work, while gaining the knowledge and skills to make informed artistic choices.
